Article on Chester family

The news paper article talks about a twenty0nine year old woman who died because a CT scan was misread. Their was an undetected twist in her intestine and if the doctors had not of missed it she could still be alive. The family sued Chester Regional Medical Center and the money will go to the woman's children. The family blames the doctors for Heather's death. They said that when she was in the hospital screaming in pain and found nothing on the CT scan they never should have sent her home. The family says they will never return to that hospital and they only wanted to share their story so people could be informed about it. Heather's mother says the doctors there don't care about their patients and this probably wasn't the first time and won't be the last time a situation like this happens.


In chapter 14 on page 545 it talks about attribution. Attribution is the process of explaining the causes of people's behavior. This means that because someone did something and it happened one time then that means that it is bound to happen again. The family blamed the doctors for their loss. The family thought the doctors were not considerate and they were too lazy to communicate to one another to find out what was wrong with Heather. The family made an internal attribute.
